Life: Floral obsession

Just a quick post on some new things I've been loving lately - one of which is this beautiful new colouring book from Johanna Basford: Secrect Garden.

Everything I've been loving is quite summery :) There's this Fentimans' pink lemonade & gin drink and pretty floral box my friend got me, this beautiful limited edition fig candle from The White Company - and these pretty flowers.

What have you been loving lately?

New in - skin care

Feel Unique had a sale on about 2 weeks ago and I couldn't resist picking up a few new skin care bits - some much needed bits.

First off; eye creams. I wanted a heavy duty one, anti-wrinkle and all that jazz. I'd never used a heavy duty, luxury one before.
So I started off with this La Roche-Posay Redermic eye cream with Retinol and it is working in terms of making eyes more luminous and reducing dark circles!

Next I went with this Hyaluron-Filler eye cream from Eucerin as this one contains Hyaluronic acid to combat wrinkles - I thought I'd have both areas covered then!

Then moving onto the face, I'd heard a lot about these Facial Radiance pads from First Aid Beauty and I've been wanting to try them for a while. They contain Lactic Glycolic acid and claim they're good for daily use, but I've been preferring to use them every other / every 3 days. The first time I used them I got quite a few stubborn spots, but since nothing and my face feels so much smoother!

Then I'd ran out of my previous Origins Ginzing moisturiser and another one was desperately needed. So I decided to stick with this as it's bloody great!

Lastly, something that isn't from Feel Unique, but new all the same and perfect for summer - L'Occitane Hydra Vital Face Mist from the Angelica range. So nice for hot days & it's coming away on Holiday with me!

What have you recently been buying? Any recommendations for summer?

Holiday reads, what I took with me

Back in October I went away for 10 or so days to Malta (it was so lovely there- check out my last post to read all about it) and I managed to get through three books while I was away which I'm quite pleased about as I haven't read much at home at all!

Life is too short to drink bad wine...

Last Saturday I was lucky enough to go to the Naked Wines Tasting Tour 2015. For those who don't know, Naked Wines is a customer funded business who help independent, small winemakers globally.

So the event last week (in London),consisted of a whistle stop tour around the world, tasting various wines, sometimes poured by the winemakers themselves - some of whom had travelled from as far as New Zealand and Australia!

I have never been wine tasting before - nor am I an expert. I don't even like red or rose! But I do know what I like and was able to try many different wines that I hadn't come across before and some that probably would have been out of my price range (even if it was a sip). However it/s definitely something I think I'd do again.

Have you ever gone wine tasting before? Where and what did you think?

Getting ready for summer

The sunglasses are bought and the nails painted, but what else are some summer essentials for 2015?
Above are some of my essentials that I can't really live without during summer!

From Soap and Glory - of course, Scrub of Your Life and the Righteous Butter. They're both a given, who wants dry skin in summer!

Next, one of my favourite lip balms from Korres in pomegranate flavour and my favourite scent from The Body Shop (and all time to be honest) : Coconut!

Last, a new cream blush from Revlon, as I think cream blushers are so lovely for summer, this one is in Coral Reef. It looks scarily orange in the pot but on it's so pretty.
And the new Barry M Sunset nail paint in Do It Like a Nude and topcoat. These daylight curing nail paints set like gels, but with out the UV light and are very similar to the No Light polish by Sally Hansen that I featured a while ago - but half the price!

What are your summer essentials? Is there a certain product you can't live without?

Destinations: Malta

Last October I went a little holiday to Malta and it seemed like as good a time as any to share the trip with you guys!
We stayed in St Julians Bay which was lovely but didn't have a proper sandy beach -  for this we went to St Georges - but it did have an amazing selection of bars, restaurants, shops and gelaterias!.

New bits and bobs

A few weeks ago I popped into Boots (and Lush) for one or two things and typically came away with about 10!

My favourite Lush bubble bar Amandopondo which is a mix of rose and lemon oil, this cute little BubbleGrub made from shea butter, sandalwood and vetivert.

Next is a replacement - clear mascara from Seventeen. I like to use this on my brows and I feels it's great for keeping them in place for the whole day.

Next is a recommendation from watching Vivianna Does makeup's videos - Rimmel Lasting finish concealer and so far I'm loving it for under the eyes in conjunction with the Garnier BB eye roll on cream.

Lastly 2 things I've wanted for ages! The L'Oreal Super Liner and the Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet lipstick.

What new things have you been buying lately? Any recommendations?

Nars Miami gift set

This post has definitely been a long time coming - and me getting back into blogging. I've been away from it for 3 months! Which sounds a bit crazy, to be honest!

I bought this gift set (for myself) a while back as I had a similar one from Nars about 18 months ago but after a lot of use it was almost finished!

This really pretty set is a great one for summer and includes some of my favs; Orgasm blush, Orgasm nail polish and lip gloss, Laguna bronzer and Fathom (light pink), Kalahari (taupe brown), Daphne (violet blue) and Cordura (dark brown) eye shadows  a mix of mate and shimmer.

I think it'll be perfect for holidays as it's a portable palette with everything you need - and cheaper than buying just the blush and bronzer individually!! Unfortunately the Miami set isn't available any more but HQhair sell the LA exclusive palette collection which is very similar!

What's your favourite palette or pieces for summer?

Trying a little food prep

After being inspired by countless videos from The Domestic Geek, I decided to finally be arsed to try a Sunday meal prep...thing. And I found some inspiration from The clothes make the girl's blog here.

Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Polish

I'm finally back! Christmas, illness and a new job kept me away- but they couldn't keep me forever! It does feel a bit strange to be blogging again after so long. So I'm easing myself in with something I picked up in Boots a week ago and felt worthy of blogging about.
The Sally Hansen Miracle 2 step Gel Polish came out (in the UK) last year, so I'm a bit late to the party but hey ho!

There probably won't be any more posts until the new year, so here's one last insta-spam post and it's quite festive!

Black Friday bits and bobs!

So it's a bit late to the game, but here's a few bits I picked up from all the wonderful Black Friday discounts (and some discount codes at the end too!)
